The Ohio Propane Management Course is designed to equip propane managers and business owners with practical strategies to strengthen leadership and elevate operational performance. Through the exploration of industry best practices and real-world case studies, participants will gain actionable insights to enhance team effectiveness and improve customer engagement. Course content includes:
- Company culture, successful communication and management styles, and workforce concerns will be addressed.
- Assistance with expectations evolving into reality, including methods of providing evaluations, conflict resolutions, and other difficult conversations.
- Specific workforce challenges of retention, recruiting, onboarding and termination will be presented.
- Discussion in areas of concern and success within the leadership position.
- Methods to handle price issues and communicate company value.
- Discuss contingency planning and management succession processes.
- Discuss culture dynamics and how to insightfully navigate successful workplace communication.
- Importance of maintenance review and scheduling of trucks, tanks, and infrastructure processes.
- Examples of directing safety meetings. Content and employee interaction.
- Promotion of PEP Training.
- Discuss documentation of customer contacts.
Faculty
David W. Lowe has been employed in the propane industry for more than 50 years as a former retailer and transport owner. He is a past president of the Michigan Propane Gas Association and currently serves on the OPGA Convention Committee and the IPGA Marketing Committee. Additionally, he continues to serve as a Board Member of the NPGA, was a charter member of the National Propane Gas Benchmarking Council, and serves various state and national Political Action Committees in various roles. David is currently a Sales Vice President for Pro Image Communications. He also has been a facilitator for 17 years and is a recognized instructor and presenter at state, regional, and national propane events.
